Welcome to the Music Ministry web page! St. Catherine's Music Ministry is blessed with a variety of groups each with its own unique sound and style, and each with its own level of commitment. Our repertoires range from chant and classical, to folk and contemporary, and we welcome instrumentalists and singers alike. Whether you're a child, teen, adult, or whole family looking to join together, we know you'll find something to fit your interests. Please check out our groups below.

Senior Choir

The Senior choir welcomes adults of high school age and up. We're a four-part chorus (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) and our repertoire includes chant, classical, traditional, and contemporary styles of music.

Masses: Sundays, 11:00 am.  We also sing at some Feast Days such as Christmas and Easter and other special liturgies such as First Communion and Confirmation.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 PM in the music room. Sundays at 10:00 am in the music room.

Junior Choir

Open to children in grades 2 and up.

Masses: We sing at the 9:00 am Mass on the first Sunday of the month. We also sing on some Feast Days, such as Christmas and Easter, and special liturgies such as First Communion.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the music room.

Youth Choir

The  Youth Choir is open to anyone from grades 7th-12th. We sing contemporary and traditional music. We also use a variety of instruments including drums, guitar and trumpet, and we'd love to have more!

Masses: Sundays, 5:30 pm (see schedule below) at Confirmation and GOF masses. We also sing on Christmas and Easter.

Rehearsals: Sundays at 3:30 for Confirmation I students, 4:30 for everyone else.

Family Folk Group

The Family Folk Group welcomes parishioners from high school through adult. The group sings at the 4:00 mass on the Saturday before the first Sunday of the month. Rehearsals are held on one evening a month in the music room. For further information, please call the director, Joanne Mavroides, 978-392-0154.

Eclectic Ensemble

"Ecclesia Eclectica," uses a mixture of ethnic, ancient, traditional and contemporary music. The ensemble includes singers, organist and other keyboardists, guitarists, wind and percussion instruments. The group sings generally sings at the 9:00am Mass, except for the first Sunday of the month. The ensemble meets at the Parish Center Music Room usually on Friday evenings.

Fourth Annual Music Ministry Cabaret

Music ministers are invited to join the cast of the spectacular Music Ministry Cabaret on board the “S.S. Catherine!”  Soloists must be at least 14 years old and members of the music ministry, and cantors or take private voice lessons. All music ministers can sing in an ensemble. Non-singing acts such as magicians and dancers are welcomed.  Rachel Muller and Kelly Clark are available as accompanists.  Please also check out Wayne Reslow's vast karaoke library (songs1, songs2)

2007 Thanksgiving Interfaith Service

This year's Thanksgiving Interfaith Service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, at 7:00 pm, rehearsal at 6:00 pm at St. Mark's in Westford.  Rehearsals will be held at St. Mark's on Thursday evenings from 7:45 – 8:45, or on Wednesdays, Nov. 14 and 21 at St. Catherine's from 8:15-9:00.  St. Mark's Music director will also be available Monday and Tuesday evenings during the week of the service for rehearsal.  Copies of sheet music for the two anthems, “Let all the People Say ‘Amen'” and “Simple Gifts,” are available to sign out in the Music Room.  Listen to the audio clips of both tunes here for practice.  (All The People Say "Amen", Simple Gifts).  To sign up, or for more information, please see Kelly Clark.
