The Westford Coordinated Events Calendar Project is a combined effort of the Peaceable Communities group, the Town of Westford, and The Westford Web. This project was established to help Westford clubs, organizations and town departments avoid conflicts with each other regarding the scheduling of events. The calendar on The Westford Web (www.westford.com) has been designated as the recomended calendar for use regarding the scheduling of events in town. All clubs, organizations and town departments may refer to this calendar if they wish to schedule an event that is of interest to, and open to, the general public. This calendar is intended to be used for informational purposes only. Any conflicts that occur should be worked out between the parties involved. Conflicting events can occur in several ways. One scenario would be when two or more groups are planning on utilizing facilities that share resources. For example, an event at the Westford Academy auditorium that is scheduled for the same night as a home football game could cause parking problems for those attending the events. Another type of conflict can occur when the target audience shares similar interests. A rock concert for teen agers presented at the Parish Center might draw on the same audience that would attend a dance at Westford Academy. Reviewing the on-line calendar before you select a date could help avoid these types of conflicts. Your organization can submit to this calendar by filling out this form (click here). The Westford Web calendar can also be updated with general interest events directly by your club administrator. To qualify for a club calendar with posting access to the main Westford Web Community Calendar, please contact the calendar administrator. Any questions regarding the
use of this calendar should be addressed to the calendar
administrator. |
