Music is integral to our worship and is led by our Organist and Music Director, Nancy Eberiel. Our adult choir offers two flexible rehearsals - Thursday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. – and sings during Sunday morning worship. The children’s choir rehearses weekly following worship and performs regularly during the year. Our choirs are open to anyone who enjoys singing, and we love to have new voices join us!

We are also blessed with many talented individuals within the congregation who frequently share their instrumental and vocal gifts with us. Guest musicians are also regular additions to Sunday morning worship.

We have two hymnals at FPCU. The Chalice Hymnal is our new bound hymnal, chosen after a year of study. Published by the Disciples, the Chalice Hymnal is a treasury of old favorites and wonderful new hymns, with a sensitivity toward inclusive language.

First Parish’s own hymnal is the Open Hymnal, a collection of hymns and readings requested by the congregation. Newly updated and reprinted in 2002, the Open Hymnal is a symbol of First Parish’s commitment to including the congregation in the creation of worship.
