No matter which way you choose to voice
your opinion, a few basic guidelines apply:
Be concise, accurate and polite.
Speak for yourself as a voter, not as a member of an
organization.
Keep to one issue, if possible.
Be specific about what action you wish the official
to take: "Vote yes on bill #1234," for example.
Be timely: make the contact close to when the action
will be taken.
Include any relevant personal experience.
Ask for a written response.
Don't forget to include your name and address, even
in email and on the phone, so they know you're a constituent!
