The evening will feature two presentations: The
Director of Storrowton Village (Eastern States Exposition), Mr.
Dennis Picard, will speak on New England Barns from a historical
perspective, and Arron Sturgis, the owner of Preservation
Timber Framing Inc. will discuss methods and economics of timber
frame barn preservation and restoration. This event will also
feature an exhibit of local barns photographed by Westford students.
Awards will be presented to honor the students whose photos were
judged best in the exhibit.
Admission for this informative evening is free.
As part of the event, there will be a Barn Photo
Contest. This contest seeks photos of Westford barns taken by
current Westford students in 2008. The winners will be awarded
prizes and all photos will be displayed at the May 14 presentation.
The 2009 Westford Historical Society's Calendar will feature Westford
Barns.
