Science is History, Too!

Science presents itself in many forms - biological, chemical, mechanical, architectural, etc., as well as applications in engineering and technology. Think about the science all around you, and share what you find in a creative way.

Rules:

1. Subject matter must be located in Westford and related to science or engineering. The photographer must be able to explain how it is related to science and to Westford's history.
2. Photo must be taken since August 2011 by a student residing in Westford or attending a Westford school, kindergarten through 12th grade.
3. Photos must be 8"x10" color or black & white print.
4. In addition to the hardcopy submission, digital submissions are requested in order to simplify calendar production. Photos up to 5MB can be emailed to museumdirector@westford.com. Larger photos should be submitted on disk.
5. Only one entry per student is permitted.
6. Photographer's name and phone number should be written on the back of the photo.
7. All photos will be mounted on cream colored mats by the Westford Historical Society and will be displayed at the Westford Museum.
8. For any photo taken on private property, permission must be obtained from the property owner.
9. Photo submissions sent by mail must be postmarked no later than Friday 11 May 2012. Mail to the Westford Historical Society, PO Box 411, Westford MA 01886.
10. Photos will be accepted in person at the Museum Office at 4 Boston Road until 1:00 on Monday 14 May 2012.
11. All photos submitted become the property of the Westford Historical Society and may be published in print or electronically by the Westford Historical Society.
12. All photos submitted will be considered for inclusion in the 2013 calendar.
13. Winners will be announced on TBD at the Museum, 2 Boston Road.
14. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries.
