Westford Friends and Newcomers Spread the word to all families with an incoming Kindergartener for the 2008-2009 school year! WFN is proud to host, yet again, two special events at each of the three K-2 elementary schools this summer. Any parent(s) with a child entering into Kindergarten this coming September is encouraged to join us for these fun events. Our goal is to get the children together so they can meet their new classmates before entering into the new world of Elementary School. RSVP's for each event are necessary, so please email Karen and Suzanne at wfnkwelcome@gmail.com and let us know that you can come! It is also important to RSVP so that you can be notified of any changes and cancellations due to inclement weather (events are NOT rescheduled due to rain, they are cancelled). Please note the following dates for your specific school:
Miller School:
Wednesday July 16th @ 6pm "Fun with Friends at your new Playground with a Special Visit from the Ice Cream Truck"
Thursday August 21st @ 10:30am "Scavenger Hunt for Kindergarteners at your Playground"
Nabnasset School:
Wednesday July 30th @ 6pm "Fun with Friends at your new Playground with a Special Visit from the Ice Cream Truck"
Wednesday August 20th @ 10:30am "Scavenger Hunt for Kindergarteners at your Playground"
Robinson School:
Wednesday July 23rd @ 6pm "Fun with Friends at your new Playground with a Special Visit from the Ice Cream Truck"
Tuesday August 19th @ 10:30am "Scavenger Hunt for Kindergarteners at your Playground"
All of the above events are free and open to the public,and should last approximately 90 minutes. Each child does need to be accompanied by an adult throughout the event, and siblings are discouraged from attending due to space limitations. We appreciate your understanding. If you know someone in your neighborhood who has a child entering Kindergarten this fall, please let them know about our exciting events for the kids. We hope to see you all there!!
**we are also actively recruiting volunteers to assist with these events. we'd love to have 2-3 adults/parents who plan on attending with their child anyways (or who just want to help!) at each school to assist with check-in, nametags, distribution of tickets/goodie bags/scavenger lists/water, etc. Contact Karen and Suzanne if you are interested. we are especially in need of more help at the Miller School events. thank you to those WFN members who have already offered to help!**
