Congratulations Sandy

Nature's Best Photography Magazine has announced the Windland Smith Rice International Awards for 2008. Our own Sandy Selesky is one of the winners in the Plant Life Category for her image "Sumac Leaves." Sandy is one of just over 100 winners selected from more than 20,000 entries. Many of the winning images were taken in the exotic locations around the world. Sandy's photograph was taken in Westford, which proves that you don't have to travel to far away places to get award winning photographs.

Congratulations Sandy. We enjoy your photographic work and truly appreciate the help and inspiration you provide to all of the members at Nashoba Valley Photo Club.

ABOUT NVPC

Welcome to the Nashoba Valley Photo Club. Most photographs are "taken" but the best ones are "made". If you have an interest in "making" photographs rather than just "taking pictures", then you should join us at the Nashoba Valley Photo Club.

Our club was started in 1982 by six people who, after finishing a photography course, decided to continue sharing their enjoyment of photography. They translated this mutual enjoyment into a concept of "making photography fun".

Thus, from those few who planted the idea, our club has grown in numbers and substance. Now the club provides activities to suit a variety of tastes and levels of experience. There is learning and competition, humor and travel, friendship and the drive to be better at photography. We are a member of the New England Camera Club Council (NECCC). This is an endless source of material for our educational and entertainment programs. Through the NECCC we have become acquainted with other nearby camera clubs.

We participate in regional competitions and other interclub activities. Our own activities include slide, digital and print competitions throughout the year as well as field trips to a variety of New England places and destinations worthy of photographic interest. The Nashoba Valley Photo Club offers special presentations, competitions, instruction, workshops, socialbility, field trips and a video library. We have served the community by offering assistance on photo based publicity, creating slide shows, exhibiting prints and working on Westford recycling programs.

Join us! Share your interest and enthusiasm with us- we have plenty to share with you. We meet
meet the 1st, 3rd and most 4th Wednesdays from 7:30 PM - 10 PM at the J.V. Fletcher Library located at 50 Main St., Westford, MA. If you have any questions about our club, please contact us.
