"Say Hi" to Sam Galpin
Sam is a software engineer who has been practicing photography since the 50’s. He bought a DSLR for a vacation trip to Alaska in 2006 and started back in taking pictures and now a fully-fledged digital user. He uses a Canon 30D and a color managed “digital darkroom”.

His primary photographic interests are nature, wildlife, and landscapes. In the past, he has photographed subjects ranging in scale from paramecia to nebula and worked with images from radar, sonar, ultraviolet and infrared technologies.

At NVPC he wants to make better photographs. He wants to learn how to make “fine art” grade prints. He is also interested in both techniques and technology for all kinds of imaging.

Sam’s other interests include sailing, canoeing, kayaking, birdwatching, cycling, skiing, travel, science, and astronomy.

"Say Hi" to Jenn Buliszak
Jenn is currently a stay at home mom who worked previously as a library media specialist.  She became interested in photography back in high school and purchased her first film camera, a Minolta SLR, during that time.

She has pursued the hobby more seriously the last five years. Two years ago, she acquired her first digital SLR and enrolled in several digital photography classes.  She joined the NVPC last fall and has thoroughly enjoyed the fun competitions, inspiring special presentations and informative photography workshops they have offered.

Her primary photographic interests are architectural and landscape photography.  She currently uses a Canon 5D and a few lenses. Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are the software she utilizes for image processing. She recently attended a seminar entitled Photoshop CS4 for Photographers.

Jenn’s other interests include reading, cooking, visiting museums and traveling.

"Say Hi" to Pamela Florek
Pamela first started taking pictures at the age of
9 but only seriously took up photography as a
hobby three years ago. Her motivation is the
documenting of her son’s early childhood years.
She took a class in digital photography and
really enjoyed it. She uses a Canon SLR and likes to photograph people, animals, architecture and landscapes. She is always looking for a different subject.

At NVPC, Pamela wants to learn through
studying other members’ work and via critiques
of images, both her own and others.

Pamela’s other interests are travel, internet surfing, volleyball, scrapbooking and being a great mother.
