Pack 100 is a member of the Yankee Clipper Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We are in the council's Greater Lowell District.
Cub Scouting is a year-round family oriented program for boys in first through fifth grades.
Most of our scouts come from Nabnasset and Abbot Schools, but boys from any school are welcome.
Most years we have about 40-50 scouts in the pack, plus the parents and siblings who come to our meetings.
Pack meetings are held once a month.
Most are on 1st Friday nights at Abbot Elementary School.
All family members are invited to all Pack events.
Den meetings are usually twice a month and meet at times and places determined by the den members.
We have modest dues of $65/year.
The dues pay for most pack activites, including awards, derbies, and a pack T-Shirt.
Some dens may have additional dues.
There are additional fees for special programs such as sleepovers and sports nights.
We do some voluntary fund raising activities, such as car washes, a raffle, and the usual scouting popcorn sales.
Our program is run by an enthusiastic group of parent volunteers who organize a variety of fun activities throughout the year, designed to promote the ten goals of Cub Scouting:
- Character Development
- Spiritual Growth
- Good Citizenship
- Sportsmanship and Fitness
- Family Understanding
- Respectful Relationships
- Personal Achievement
- Friendly Service
- Fun and Adventure
- Preparation for Boy Scouting
In addition to the den and rank advancement programs,
we have many other pack activities each year.
Here are some typical examples:
- Blue and Gold Banquet
- Construction Derby (fill a gym with a cardboard city)
- Indoor Rock Climbing Sleepover
- Campfire and Camping Overnight
- Science Show
- Battleship Cove Sleepover
- Hiking
- Pinewood Derby (model cars)
- Space Derby (rubber band powered rockets)
- Sports Outings at River Hawks Hockey and Lowell Spinners
- Soda-bottle rockets
