Westford Academy Athletic Booster Annual Canister Drive
Westford Academy's fall athletes will be knocking on neighborhood doors and soliciting donations outside local businesses in Westford this Saturday, September 6th, in support of the WA Athletic Boosters annual canister drive. The proceeds of this drive will support all of the student athletes at Westford Academy.

There are three main goals for the WA Athletic Boosters annually. The first is to award monetary scholarships to deserving seniors, to help with their future college expenses. The WA Boosters Club sponsors 20-30 scholarships each year for our seniors who have worked hard and stayed committed to a sports program during their high school careers. They have given so much of themselves to enrich the Westford community that giving back to them for their future successes seems the perfect graduation gift.

Secondly, we provide all varsity letters awarded to students, any plaque or banner earned by a team, and host the annual Sports Banquet for senior athletes in the spring.

And thirdly, we provide supplemental funding to the Academy’s Athletic Department to assist with the purchase of equipment not covered in the annual budget. The budget can’t provide it all. Our coaches may make a request to the WA Boosters to fund a piece of equipment over and above the allocated annual finances for that team. Recent purchases we have made for our athletes through coach’s requests have been: Portable score boards, golf bags, gymnastic equipment, the swim team 'start' system, lacrosse pitch backs, the lining of the WA track, and new pom poms for the cheerleaders.

With the generous support of the Westford community, we hope to continue to supplement the athletic budget wherever shortfalls may arise. Please be on the look out for Westford Academy student athletes on Sept 6th and remember that all student athletes will benefit from the money raised.
