Westford Against Substance Abuse (WASA) co-published theRed Flags and Resources Guidewith other area town coalitions in June 2005Red Flags and Resourcesis a prevention guide for parents, teens and other adult care givers.

It was mailed home to all Westford high school students. Middle school students took it home from school to give to their parents. Red Flags Resource Guide will be distributed to all 6th graders in the late spring.

Strengthening Families Program

An exciting opportunity for Grade 6 Students and their families!   A positive approach to helping young teens and their parents develop helpful communication, limit setting and healthy choices.   Seven weeks, Tuesday evenings, September 23rd - November 4th, 2008, 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm.  Dinner and child care provided. Look for a registration flier in the mail the first week of September or sign up on line.  

Program fee: $50.

Registration deadline extended to Friday, Sept 26.

Classes start Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Town Hall Ornament Fundraiser 2007

This ornament is a beautiful gold plated brass replica of the Westford Town Hall (2” x 3”) Packaged in an attractive box. It is accompanied by a special certificate containing historical information about the Town Hall. This will be the first of a series of a collectible line that WASA will be creating with a new ornament produced each year. These will be sold on a first come basis and will not be reissued, so place your orders early. These make great teachers and family gifts. The ornaments will be on sale at the Board of Health, Roudenbush, and the Westford Academy Christmas Bazaar and at all the public schools except Nabnasset. Cost is $15.00 and is tax deductible.

About WASA
WASA was organized in 1986-1987 in response to concerns about substance abuse problems, both locally and globally.  The ongoing goal of the organization is to educate all members of the Westford community about substance abuse.  A long range goal is to assure that programs are in place which will aid in the prevention and treatment of all forms of substance abuse in the community of Westford.  A Board of Directors, made up of a cross section of the Westford community, manages the affairs of the group.
