The Westford Parent Connection is celebrating its twelfth anniversary during the 2012–2013 school year. The WPC was formed in 2001 to provide Westford parents and guardians enrichment and educational events to help address a variety of social and emotional issues pertaining to their children's development. The WPC works collaboratively with groups throughout the community, to ensure we address the right topics at the right time. We are grateful for the support from the Westford Public Schools, the Westford Health Department, the Roudenbush Community Center, the Westford Elementary PTO, and the Westford Middle School PTO. To learn more about the organization, contact WPC President Mary Anne Seraphin at email@example.com.
A basketball star in high school, Chris Herren went on to play at Boston College and then Fresno State. After college, he was drafted by the Denver Nuggets. He then realized a childhood dream and went on to play for the Boston Celtics. His meteoric success concealed a darker side. Chris started abusing alcohol, cocaine, painkillers, and then heroin, and nearly lost everything. Chris will share his harrowing tale and tell how he found a way back to life.
